Slowing down and leading with an open heart
Feminine and Masculine energy co-exist within all of us, it’s not exactly connected to gender but more so the energy you emit as an individual which determines what you receive from the universe.
In simple form, Feminine energy is healing, nurturing, and compassionate. Love and support is the main element but fierceness comes into play when needed and the focus is simply to take a step back from time to time and indulge in gentle care towards yourself or those around you. When observing our world today, the fast action and hustler work ethics appear to be the theme of most people’s lives. It is certainly a positive thing to work towards your goals and ambitions but the toxic perspective of “the harder you work the more you achieve” has proved itself to be counterproductive as the burnout syndrome has become a strong part of many people’s lives.
This is where the importance of Feminine energy comes in and the balance that we need to focus on within ourselves, while it’s true that Masculine energy is just as important as Feminine, the main idea still remains to be that they need to be in balance in order to execute the great positive effects. The aim shouldn’t always be 50/50 because in some situations we need one type of energy a little more than the other, but when looking at the big picture of our lives, balance is always key to success.
So how do we tap into our Feminine energy and reclaim our balance back? Let’s begin first with identifying when is it necessary for us to do so. In any given situation in which you need guidance, your body should be your first consultant to refer to. Our bodies are incredible machines that not only keep us alive and well but they act as an alert system when things are “off”. Take a moment to sit in stillness for at least 5 minutes whilst taking deep breaths, the goal for you is to first identify any discomfort or odd sensations you are feeling within your body. Are your shoulder muscles tense? Any light headaches or migraines? Are your feet swollen or do you feel overall fatigue? As you observe the messages your body is delivering to you, make note of them and keep in mind that such messages are an indication of a build-up that occurred over time. Observe for a moment your current routine and be honest with yourself, are you pushing your body to handle more responsibilities on a daily basis? If the answer is yes, then you would have identified the imbalance within you and recognized that change needs to occur.
Initially, you need to put all your focus on resting and being rather than doing. Catch up on your sleep, sit in peace or do an activity that calms you and gets you in a state of rest. It can be watching your favorite tv show or reading a book, whatever it is, make it your priority.
Embrace your senses and indulge in them. Find joy in the small things, your favorite perfume scent, the taste of your guilty pleasure meal, the sunlight on your skin. Getting in touch with your senses allows you to be grounded and grateful for your surroundings.
Reflect and get in tune with your inner being. You don’t have to meditate for three hours and journal an essay every morning, if you want to that’s great! But reflection can be done in many different ways. You can think out loud, talk to a loved one or think mindlessly as you get creative like painting or pottery. Being intuitive is a strong characteristic of the Divine Feminine and it serves you well to be guided by it instead of your ego.
Spending time in mother nature and around loved ones is another heartwarming way in which you can tap into your Feminine energy and not only will this boost your mood but it will remind you of what is really important in life which essentially is the beautiful relationships we create and the connection we cultivate within ourselves and the universe.
The bottom line is that both energies are within us and they are equally important. However, it’s imperative to reflect on one’s journey from time to time, especially when feeling stuck or uncomfortable. Use your physical body as a guide and don’t be afraid to rest, you won’t be wasting time and you will certainly be able to achieve greater things when you are balanced and energized.
